Create a Sequence
The sequence builder uses a visual editor similar to the workflow builder, where you arrange message steps with timed delays between them.
Creating a New Sequence
- Go to Sequences in the sidebar
- Click the + button to create a new sequence
- Give your sequence a name
- You’ll land on the visual sequence editor
Sequence Structure
Every sequence follows this pattern:
Start → Message → Delay → Message → Delay → … → End
Start Node
The entry point of the sequence. Contacts enter here when enrolled.
Message Nodes
Each message node sends an approved template to the contact. Configure:
- Template — Select an approved message template
- Variable values — Fill in any template variables
Delay Nodes
Set the time between messages:
- Days — Wait a number of days
- Hours — Wait a number of hours
End Node
Marks the completion of the sequence. When a contact reaches the end, they’re no longer enrolled.
Building the Sequence
- The editor starts with a Start and End node
- Click between nodes to add a Message step
- Configure the delay timing between each message
- Select a template for each message node
- Use the auto-layout feature to organize your nodes visually
Prerequisites
Before creating a sequence, you need:
- Approved templates — Each message step requires an approved WhatsApp template
- Account Switch node — Your workflow must include an Account Switch block before the Schedule Sequence block (this selects which WhatsApp number sends the messages)
Test your sequence with a small group before enrolling your full audience. This helps you verify timing, content, and template delivery.
