Managing Sequences
Sequences are enrolled and managed through workflows, not manually. This gives you full control over who enters a sequence and when.
Enrolling Contacts
To enroll a contact in a sequence, use these workflow blocks:
1. Account Switch Block
Select which WhatsApp phone number will send the sequence messages. This must come before the Schedule Sequence block.
2. Schedule Sequence Block
Enroll the contact in a specific sequence. Configure:
- Sequence — Select which sequence to enroll them in
- The contact begins receiving messages according to the sequence’s timing
Cancelling a Sequence
To remove a contact from an active sequence, use the Cancel Sequence block in a workflow. This stops all remaining messages in the sequence for that contact.
Common reasons to cancel:
- The contact replied and no longer needs the drip campaign
- The contact made a purchase (goal achieved)
- The contact opted out of messages
The One Sequence Rule
Remember: a contact can only be in one sequence at a time. If a workflow enrolls a contact in a new sequence while they’re already in one, the old sequence is automatically cancelled.
Monitoring Sequences
From the Sequences page, you can:
- View all sequences and their configurations
- Edit sequence content and timing
- See the sequence flow visually
A common pattern is to use a workflow trigger to detect replies from contacts in a sequence, then cancel the sequence and transfer to live chat for a human conversation.
